丸藤正道
NOAHでの最初の栄冠から10年後、丸藤正道はNOAHが管理する全てのタイトルを獲得した最初のレスラーとなった。彼は、KENTAとGHCジュニアタッグ王座、GHCジュニアヘビー級王座、鈴木みのると杉浦貴でそれぞれGHCタッグ王座、GHCヘビー級王座、GHC無差別級王座を獲得した。
丸藤は、NOAH、NJPW、AJPWで初めてジュニアヘビー級王座を獲得したレスラーでもあった！
彼は、ドイツ、オーストリア、イギリス、アメリカにも遠征した。
2006年は、丸藤の年であった。
世界中から賞賛を受けたKENTAとの素晴らしい試合の他にも、丸藤は秋山準に挑み、GHCヘビー級のベルトを獲得した。
彼はヘビー級王座となり、自分の夢を実現した。彼は試合後、師匠・三沢光晴に感謝の意を示した。
丸藤は現在、プロレスリングNOAHの取締役副社長であり、今年末にもリング復帰が望まれている。

Naomichi Marufuji’s beginnings.
丸藤正道もまた、AJPWに入門した。1998年、彼が18歳の時、故 三沢光春に指導を受けた。丸藤は、三沢と一緒に新設されたばかりのプロレスリング・ノアに移籍する。ここから、ジュニアヘビー級でのサクセス・ストーリーが始まった。デビュー当時の彼の超人的な跳躍力と革新的な技に、人々は驚愕した。ニックネームは“ジュニアの天才”。彼は、本田多聞とタッグを組み、2000年10月22日に行われたWEW（World Entertainment Wrestling）タッグ選手権で勝利した。しかし2ヶ月後、彼らは冬木弘道と黒田哲広に王座を奪われた。

Jushin Thunder Liger & Koji Kanemoto vs Naomichi Marufuji & Kotaro Suzuki (06/10/03)
NJPW vs NOAH and more so Veterans vs Newbies (more in Kotaro’s case who just debuted in 01), and really this match goes on to display how “offended” Liger & Kanemoto seem when they’re attacked by a new to the game and relatively small Kotaro Suzuki. Liger begins the match by stomping Suzuki non stop and Kanemoto doesn’t spare the young guy, who still displays major athletic abilities (those dives!!). Marufuji acts as Kotaro’s defender and it’s nice to go back in time like this and see a young Marufuji that hasn’t been plagued by injuries yet!
The crowd is hot, as would be expected since the NOAH outsiders are in the NJPW territory and facing for the tag belts! It would be nice to have a rematch to this as Kotaro Suzuki in particular is miles and miles away from his former 03 self!
Great Jr tag action with everything you’d expect and more, controversial near falls and Kotaro Suzuki more than holding his own against Liger & Kanemoto who want to “put him back in his place”. And this is really what makes it a great bout: the aggressiveness of the NJPW team not eager to lose their titles in front of their home crowd!
